As part of a comprehensive treatment program, MAT has been shown to: improve survival, increase retention in treatment, decrease illicit opiate use, decrease hepatitis and HIV sero-conversion, decrease criminal activities, increase employment, and improve birth outcomes with women struggling with perinatal addiction. The MATS credential requires professionals to demonstrate competency through experience, education, supervision, and successful completion of the module examinations. Project ADAM is a certified and SAMHSA approved provider for this service.
